Not A Mouse is a one-handed, gesture-based input device, that lets you do what a mouse can do - and more, but without causing strain! Freeing interaction from the table, and empowering users of all abilities, to work comfortably anywhere.

The core problem isn’t the shape — it’s that every mouse still depends on a desk.

Form follows Function

Not A Mouse was designed for your hand
— not your desk.
Worn like a soft extension of your finger, it moves with you.
No gripping, no tension, no table required.
Just pure, intuitive comfort.

About Us

We’re not a big company like Logitech — just two people trying to make things better.

Quan is a developer, Nina is a designer. Like many, we felt the wrist strain that comes from using a mouse every day and asked ourselves: Why does it have to be this way?

Not A Mouse began as a side project to explore a simple idea:

What if input didn’t depend on a surface?

What surprised us most was how many people connected with that question. So many testers, so much feedback — and so many stories of pain and limitation. That response gave us the motivation to keep building. Our goal? To replace the mouse entirely.

We’re still early. Prototyping, testing, and learning.

This isn’t a finished product — yet. It’s a work-in-progress experiment in building something freer, more human, and a little playful.

If that resonates with you, join us in challenging the status quo — and help shape what comes next.

The Real Problem with Mice

Mice lock your wrist in a fixed position, require constant grip tension, and rely on repetitive micro-movements without full-range motion — all of which can lead to long-term strain and pain.

Up to 10% of people struggle to use a standard mouse at all — and for many others, prolonged use is the very reason they can’t anymore.

Ergonomic models claim to offer relief, but often fall short: they’re bulky, heavy, designed for static desk setups, and still dependent on a surface. For people with serious conditions like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, even the most expensive ergonomic mice can be completely unusable.

That’s when we realized:

xxx of people have experienced wrist pain due to the useage of mice before — and for many others, prolonged use is the very reason they can’t anymore.

Where's the Progress?

Work is becoming more digital, and screen time is higher than ever. Ergonomics have followed suit — with standing desks, high-tech chairs, and portable setups that let us work from cafés, trains, or airplanes. AI now transcribes meetings, answers emails, and handles tasks we once did manually.

So why are we still using a mouse designed in the 1960s?
